The goal with this list is to rush the mage ahead with his Corsairs horde, and try to snipe the opponent caster(s), reducing their magic defense to nothing. If you go Shadow instead of Death, you could play more safely, and just debuff your opponent's units, but i think this approach is alot more fun, and offer a different challenge.
Dark Rider are mainly used as annoyance. Unlike Ogre's Sabertusk from last month, those are expected to stay alive, get into a fight, and win some important combat against warmachine, or unit's flanks.
The Cauldron Buff is usually used to give my Witches a wardsave, since they are most often than not a target of anything that can do damage. Because lets face it, a unit of 7x3 witches is pretty nasty against alot of stuff, especially with the banner of murder, that allows them to take on things with high Toughness and Armor. They are my favourite unit for going against expensive cavalry, or big monsters.
Cold One Knight are used with the Banner of Hag Graef to allow them to do more than one single round of cc before turning useless... sure, they do not have the Strenght from charge anymore, but at least they still reroll missed hits against most armies.
BlackGuard are pretty much a tarpit, to fight against just about anything except monsters.
The 2 hydra are there to provide CR with their breath and thunderstomp, and obviously, their many attacks. Flanking the corsairs unit, and staying close to Blackguard and Witches really force your opponent to be careful about the moment he charge.
